Breach of Coronavirus Regulations

Published: 22 June 2020

The Parish Council are aware of several breaches of the Coronavirus regulations recently.

These are mainly groups of up to 10 teenagers gathering by the river at the stepping stones and not adhering to social distancing between themselves or passers-by. As the legislation is changing so regularly, the police are finding it difficult to enforce breaches however they are aiming to engage with people and educate them before issuing fines. If they do come across repeat offenders though, they will issue them with a fine.

If we see any more similar incidents, Sgt Hudson has asked that reports are made through the West Yorkshire Police online reporting here:

The form takes between 2-5 minutes to complete. This way he is able to monitor incident numbers and can deploy officers from his team accordingly (in the same way as anti-social behaviour).
