New Defibrillator for the Scalebor Pavilion

Published: 09 January 2020

A new defibrillator has been now installed and registered with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service. It is located on the wall of the pavilion on the veranda, and is the 3rd such device in the village. The other two are located at the new Scout and Guide HQ on Peel Place, and outside the Queens Hall on Main Street.

The equipment is used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. It's a sophisticated, yet easy-to-use, medical device that can analyse the heart's rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock, or defibrillation, to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm.
