The Roundhouse

Image result for the round house burleyThe Round House was built in 1840 as a gazebo within the grounds of Burley Grange and was given listed status in 1976. Burley Parish Council took on a 50-year lease of the building in 2017.

The building is available to hire for £5 per hour or £25 per day and is currently being booked for use as a pop-up shop, for arts and crafts activities and as part of a wedding party in Summer 2019.

The building is also suitable for use for group meetings, small stalls, information points, exhibitions and promotional events.  We can provide hot water and tea & coffee making facilities.

We would like to see better use made of this iconic building and the Parish Councill are seeking funding for refurbishment works including the installation of running water.

The Parish Council took on a 99 year lease from Bradford Council and made the decision last year to refurbish the Round House. A refurbishment programme for the building has been agreed at a cost of £21,000, funded from within existing budgets and a grant from National Lottery for £9,500. As part of the refurbishment, Burley Community Trust and Burley Gardeners have agreed to contribute up to £500 each towards improvements to the Round House Garden.

Work is scheduled to commence on Monday 18th March which will include the repair and restoration of guttering, complete replacement of the glass windows, a complete re-paint, and the replacement of the stone paving outside.
