Community Facilities and Environment Committee meets every six weeks usually on a Monday at 7pm. 

Terms of Reference for Community Facilities and Environment Committee of Burley Parish Council

  1. Membership of Community Facilities and Environment Committee will be decided at the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council in May each year.
  1. The Community Facilities and Environment Committee will comprise no fewer than six members, with three as a quorum.  Non-members of the Parish Council will be co-opted on to the Community Facilities and Environment Committee as required.
  1. The Community Facilities and Environment Committee will meet as required but no fewer than six times per year.
  1. The Community Facilities and Environment Committee will have delegated powers (Local Government Act 1972 section 101) to make decisions without reference to Full Council on issues relating to the environment, maintenance and allotments.  The Committee will have authority to act within the agreed budget.
  1. The Community Facilities and Environment Committee will have responsibility for:
    • Ensuring the progression of all relevant issues within the Neighbourhood Plan
    • Supporting the Council’s aims and objectives concerning the enhancement of Biodiversity 
    • Overseeing maintenance around the village including Village Green, Water Feature, Burley House Field, Garden behind St Mary’s Parish Church
    • Liaison with Bradford Metropolitan District Council for regular maintenance of village amenities
    • All activities related to the running of the allotments owned and managed by Burley Parish Council and any other items as decided by the Parish Council.
    • To promote and manage entertainment and recreational facilities within the village as a parish council or in partnership with other organizations under Local Government Act 1972 section 145.
