The Allocations Development Plan is being created by Bradford Council to identify and allocate sites which will meet the district’s needs for new homes, jobs and infrastructure. It will also designate key areas of amenity and environmental value such as green spaces and wildlife areas so that they are protected and enhanced. Once agreed, it will replace the unitary development plan and contribute towards decisions on individual planning applications.
There is an interactive map of the Bradford district on the website which shows the sites in more detail.
Bradford Council have agreed that Burley needs at least 700 new homes over the next 15 years and have indicated that 15 sites in Burley are suitable for this level of housing. These sites are part of the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) for Bradford.
The Parish Council have completed the Neighbourhood Plan and are working with Bradford to try and ensure that wherever possible future housing within the village has limited disruption and impact on the Green Belt.
